Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose my shirts?

We can work with t-shirts, sweatshirts, soccer or baseball jerseys. The design area of the shirt can be large or small. Some shirts have pocket logos or designs on the back. Decide if any of the design areas are to be eliminated and cover the area with a strip of masking tape. Alternatively, write a list of any areas to be excluded.

How can I personalize my t-shirt quilt?

Make your t-shirt quilt one-of-a-kind by including photo transfers. A photo transfer is made by scanning a favorite photo or other copyable item (invitation, yearbook page, newspaper article, award certificate) onto specially treated fabric. There is a $15 charge per transfer. You can also send us embroidered patches or varsity letters. These personal items truly individualize your quilt.

What if there is a hole or stain on my shirt?

All shirts are stabalized before they are sewn. Small holes do not affect the final product. Some worn or stained areas of the shirt can be trimmed away. Any imperfect areas that are included are just testimony to how well-loved that item was.

How will I know what size my quilt will be?

We do not trim shirts to meet a predetermined size or layout. Smaller items such as pocket logos are combined together on one square. Four shirts with small logos may only count as "one" shirt on the layout. If all of your shirts have large design areas, you can easily determine the finished quilt size from the order chart. If you have a variety of small sized designs, use your best guess and we will contact you if there is a change in the ordered size. Ther is usually a bit of "wiggle room" in the finished product.

How do I send my shirts?

Place your clean shirts in a box (do not trim or cut the shirts) and send it to us via UPS, FedEx, or USPS mail with your order sheet and any delivery instructions. Please note that for return shipping addresses we must have a delivery street address as some of the carriers do not deliver packages to PO box numbers.

Can you contact us during the process?

Surely, feel free at any time to e-mail or call our shop. We keep normal business hours Monday through Saturday and will be glad to answer any questions, concerns etc. that you may have.

How do I clean my quilt?

Your quilt is made with 100% cotton materials (excluding your shirts) and is fully machine washable (gentle cycle). We prefer not to dry quilts in a dryer (Low Heat). We air dry all our quilts but this choice is up to you and certainly either method works.
